Future Riders is a DTC eCommerce brand. Founded in 2024 by a parent with a son who enjoys riding himself, they are on a mission to make the world of electric balance bikes more accessible, stress-free and affordable for parents. They stock a range of popular brands and have an ambitious growth strategy.

When Future Riders came to us, they had a very limited budget for their ads. The challenge was building the infrastructure for scale, but having to do so with a budget that could potentially limit algorithm learning (pmax campaigns) and with a seasonal product where stock levels could also change overnight. Given the margin in this industry, we also knew we needed a strong ROAS, with the client targeting 10+ as a minimum.

Our Google Ads Process

Our PPC retainers give you access to top Google Ads talent. In this case, the team quickly identified that the brands being sold already had solid demand behind them, but customers were struggling to know where to buy from. We set out to become the shop they would find and choose when searching for Revvi, Amped, RFN or Stomp bikes. This was where we believed each paid click gave us the highest chance of conversion, and given margins plus the need to scale profitably, chasing converting clicks was essential. Our team call this strategy ‘sniping’ – it’s fulfilling existing demand by providing the solution, not generating it at the top of funnel.

Shopping Dominance
We wanted to dominate shopping listings, as this is where a lot of demand sniping takes place. In order to do this, we connected up a CSS (Product Hero) and began to improve product data. We encouraged the client to send us more product data (like GTINs) and advised changes to both pricing and delivery that enabled him to appear, but crucially to appear as the best option on the shopping results. Through feed-only pmax campaigns which were filtered to only sell high-value items, we were able to concentrate budget on the shopping results, and on products where a conversion would go a long way to achieving our ROAS goal.
Conversion Focus
Future Riders had no social proof or reviews when he came to us. We immediately began collecting reviews using Judge Me and displayed some Cialdini inspired USP’s on product pages. In addition to this, we have been working on product pages since day one; the pages now have swatches and stunning designs which convert a lot better on mobile and desktop. Finally, we use Klaviyo for email marketing and this helps capture data to feed our campaigns, but also does abandoned cart automations which capture some lost sales. This has compounded the positive ads performance.
Campaign Structure
Campaign structure has changed significantly with budget, but, we have stuck by our principles of not throttling pmax campaigns. It was important to us to strike a balance between control and performance. Currently, we can adjust spend on each brand the client sells, whilst having asset groups dedicated to different bikes, as they serve different age groups so search terms and demographics vary. A feed-only campaign for all high-value items has been one sure way of maintaining a dominant presence on shopping listings, whilst brand specific campaigns give us coverage across the rest of Googles ecosystem.

The Results

The results have been extraordinary. We are now spending more than 10x our initial budget, and all of this scaling has been achieved at well over the 10x (1000%) ROAS we were set as a target. In some months, we hit 40 ROAS due to seasonality and sold out of bikes entirely.
