Major changes to Google’s Search Engine Algorithms happen around every 6 months or so. By keeping an eye on these you can stay on top of them, but smaller changes to the algorithms happen all the time and at any time…

These changes can have an affect on your website’s ranking and your SEO. Which is why it is so important to refresh your website regularly and one of the best ways to do this is to stay on top of your content. Search engines will favour websites that are updated frequently and more recently, but that doesn’t mean overloading your website with poor, keyword heavy content that has been written with a lack of thought of context or that repeats existing content.

1.

Content should be written with a few things in mind. Firstly, a beneficial purpose – is the content you are writing going to be helpful and useful for your site users?

2.

Your content should also be from an expert, and it should be trustworthy. If you are writing content that may seem a little unorthodox then Google will lower the ranking of your website.

3.

And lastly, content that has any legal implications or advice should be written by those who have the relevant qualifications to do so.

Keeping your content updated is also an opportunity to use more keywords. The more quality content you produce, the more relevant keywords you will have on your website. And the better optimised those keywords are, the higher your SEO will be. Your business will grow with you and keep in line with current trends. If your content is out of date then your keywords will be as well and they may not be what you wish to rank for anymore.

Keeping your content up to date is important and should be checked regularly to ensure anything that is out of date is updated or removed.
